Width. Length.
Proportion.
Start with chest width, body length, shoulder width and sleeve length. A boxy tee and a longer oversized tee can have different proportions, even when both are described as relaxed.
Specify how each measurement is taken and share your intended size range. Use a garment you like as a reference, then agree a measurement chart for sample review.

Define the finish.
Record neckline shape, collar width, rib direction and the desired opening. Include shoulder construction, sleeve shape and hem finish so the sample can be reviewed against clear instructions.
Set the placement.
Supply artwork files, intended print dimensions and position relative to garment seams. Identify embroidery, labels or other branding separately and ask how each will be sampled.

Lay the sample flat and compare its measurements with your chart. Check collar shape, sleeve opening, hem alignment, seam finish and artwork placement. Record each requested adjustment with a measurement or annotated image.
Discuss the planned wash checks and review the results with the team. Agree the final fabric, care instructions, sizing and artwork before approving production.

What do you need to quote custom T-shirts?
Share the fit reference or tech pack, fabric direction, colours, size range and quantities per colour. Include artwork dimensions, labels, packaging, destination and target date. Mark any specifications that you would like help developing.
Can I start with a reference rather than a tech pack?
Yes. Send images or a garment reference and explain what you want to keep or change. The fit, construction, materials and decoration still need to be agreed before the sample is approved.
Can the same graphic be used across the size range?
Include your preferred approach in the brief. Ask whether artwork dimensions and placement should stay fixed or change by size, and review the agreed approach before production.
How are costs and minimum quantities confirmed?
They are confirmed against your project scope. Ask for a quote that identifies sampling, garment construction, decoration, labels, packing and delivery, together with payment terms and timing.
